Trial Date Set for Trump Turnberry Vandalism Case

By Karim Hammam

A Scottish court has scheduled a 15-day trial for 14 February 2028 for seven individuals charged with maliciously damaging the Turnberry golf resort owned by US President Donald Trump. The alleged offence is said to have a “terrorist connection,” according to the indictment.

Alleged Damage and Charges

The charges stem from an incident on 8 March 2025, when police were called to the 5-star hotel and golf club on Maidens Road in Turnberry, South Ayrshire. Prosecutors allege the group dug up turf on the fairways and greens, sprayed glyphosate herbicide and paint on the grass and buildings, and painted political slogans on the property. They are also accused of damaging a sprinkler system and a light.

Defendants and Additional Charges

The accused are Kieran Robson, 35, of Galashiels; Uzma Bashir, 56, of Leeds; Ricky Southall, 34, of Wakefield; Autumn Ward, 23, of Liverpool; Rebecca Sian Davies, 29; John Moxley, 58; and Dylan Chiaramello, 25, all of London. Robson, Bashir and Davies face an additional charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by allegedly using vehicles with false registration plates to conceal their movements.

Court Proceedings

At a virtual hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, pleas of not guilty were entered on behalf of six defendants. Counsel for Southall requested more time to take instructions. Judge Lord Arthurson fixed the trial date and a preliminary hearing for 15 March 2027. All seven remain on bail.
