The stage adaptation of the hit film "The Greatest Showman" will open in London's West End in spring 2027, with previews beginning April 14 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and an official opening night on May 5. The limited run is scheduled to close on October 2 after nearly five months.
Ticket Sales and Creative Team
General ticket sales begin at 12 pm on November 18, with priority booking opening on November 3. Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw will helm the production, which features a libretto by Tim Federle based on the 2017 film.
Lead Casting Revealed
Oliver Tompsett will star as P.T. Barnum alongside Samantha Barks as his wife, Charity. Further casting includes Ben Joyce as Phillip Carlyle, Vajen van den Bosch as Jenny Lind, and Malinda Parris as Lettie Lutz.
From Bristol to the West End
The musical follows a sold-out run at the Bristol Hippodrome earlier this year. The production marks the first 20th Century Studios title adapted for the stage by Disney Theatrical Group.
Songs and Origins
The score includes Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, such as "The Greatest Show," "A Million Dreams," and "This Is Me." The EGOT winners have also written new material for the stage version. The original film starred Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, and Zendaya, inspired by the life of circus creator P.T. Barnum.
