A man is set to stand trial on attempted murder charges following a mass stabbing on a London-bound train last November.
Charges and plea
Anthony Williams, 33, denies 14 counts of attempted murder. Ten counts relate to the stabbing on an LNER service from Doncaster to London on the evening of 1 November 2025, which was stopped in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Three further counts concern an incident in Peterborough and one at Pontoon Dock DLR station in London.
Previous admissions
At a pre-trial review at Cambridge Crown Court earlier this month, Williams pleaded guilty to 10 counts of wounding with intent linked to the train attack. He also admitted wounding with intent against a man at Pontoon Dock in the early hours of 1 November and against a 14-year-old boy in Peterborough on 31 October, along with other offences.
Trial date
The trial on the attempted murder charges is scheduled to begin at Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday.
