Australian mushroom murderer Erin Patterson has lost her appeal to overturn her triple-murder conviction at Victoria's Court of Appeal. The conviction stems from a 2023 case where Patterson was found guilty of killing three relatives with poisonous mushrooms.
Prosecution Successfully Appeals Sentence
In a separate appeal, prosecutors successfully argued that Patterson's original sentence of 33 years with a non-parole period was insufficient. The court will now reconsider her sentence, potentially increasing the time she must serve before parole eligibility.
BBC correspondent Katy Watson reported on the court proceedings, which could mean Patterson spends the rest of her life in prison.
