DNA testing has confirmed that a wig found near the site of a September car crash on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in Louisiana belongs to Christina Munn-Holiday, a 22-year-old mother who has been missing since September 30.
Munn-Holiday vanished after her grey BMW was abandoned on the bridge in Iberville Parish following a collision in the early morning hours. She had been traveling toward Baton Rouge after leaving her 4-year-old son with her parents in Katy, Texas, the day before.
Witnesses and phone data
Louisiana State Police found the occupants of the other vehicle at the scene, but Munn-Holiday was gone. Witnesses reported seeing a woman matching her description walk away from the crash. Her phone pinged in the area briefly before being turned off.
DNA result and arrest
Authorities located the wig weeks before the DNA confirmation on October 27. On October 23, police arrested Sandrea Davis, 21, charging her with reckless operation with accident in connection with the initial collision. Officials stated the arrest relates only to the traffic crash, not the missing person investigation.
Family launches fundraising effort
The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to fund a private investigator, legal representation, and travel costs between Texas and Louisiana. Keisha Hopkins, speaking for the family, said they are following every lead and seeking answers about what happened after the accident, including the involvement of the other vehicle's occupants.
