A 19-year-old woman critically wounded in a drive-by shooting outside a pub in Loganholme, Queensland, has died in hospital six days after the attack. Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau from Jimboomba was among four people injured when masked gunmen opened fire on a crowd gathered in the passenger drop-off zone outside Fitzy's Loganholme on Saturday evening.

Shooting details and victim

The shooting occurred around 8:18 pm when a Mitsubishi pulled up near the group. Schuster-Togiatau was shot in the head and neck, underwent surgeries at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and died on Thursday morning. The three other victims, men aged 27, 37, and 38, were also hospitalized; one is recovering from surgery while the other two have been released.

Police investigation

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin announced the case is now a homicide investigation and a manhunt is underway for three men and accomplices. About 80 officers are involved. Galpin appealed for witnesses to come forward and said investigators are keeping an open mind about possible gang involvement.

Community response

Logan City Mayor Jon Raven expressed deep sadness over the death, describing Schuster-Togiatau as deeply loved by her family, friends, and community. A GoFundMe campaign set up to support her family has raised more than $53,000 toward a $70,000 target.
