A 19-year-old woman has died after masked gunmen opened fire into a crowd outside a pub in Brisbane’s southern suburb of Loganholme on Saturday night.

Victim identified

Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, from Jimboomba, was shot in the head and neck while on a night out with friends outside Fitzy’s Loganholme. She died at Princess Alexandra Hospital on Thursday morning.

Others injured

Three men aged 27, 37 and 38 were also hospitalised. One underwent surgery while the other two have been released.

Police investigation

About 80 officers are involved in the murder investigation. The shooting occurred during a boxing event at the venue. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said police would not stop until those responsible are identified and taken into custody.

Appeal for information

Galpin urged anyone with knowledge of the offenders or the motive to come forward, describing the attack as a cowardly act that cut short a young life. The victim’s family has requested privacy.
