In southern Lebanon, visual artist Lina Jouni is repurposing fragments of Israeli military munitions to create art. Since 2024, she has been collecting shrapnel from the rubble of destroyed homes in Roumin to craft sculptures, keychains, and various decorative objects.
Turning Destruction into Beauty
Jouni explained that she aims to transform the dangerous materials that were intended to cause harm or death within her home and community into something beautiful. By converting these remnants into harmless artistic pieces, she expressed a desire to defy the destructive nature of the metal.
