A South Dakota widow is appealing for help to find her late husband's wedding ring, which was lost on the Las Vegas Strip during their wedding night just three days before he died unexpectedly.
Wedding night loss
Tammy Bishop and Will Mulroy married on October 20 at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel. After the ceremony, the couple boarded a party bus to tour the Strip. During the celebration, Mulroy discovered his blue metal wedding band was missing. The couple retraced their steps, enlisted the bus driver and others to search, but the ring was never found.
From laughter to grief
At the time, Bishop reassured her new husband they could simply replace the ring. The couple laughed about the mishap, with Bishop teasing Mulroy that he had not even worn it for 24 hours. Three days later, Mulroy died after experiencing severe pain during the trip home. He was later declared brain dead at a hospital, where his heart stopped three times while on life support.
Life changed by injury
Mulroy had been paralyzed in a motorcycle crash in March 2024, a week after the couple made their relationship official. Despite the injury, he continued to pursue marriage, planning the Las Vegas wedding as a surprise for Bishop's birthday on October 4. Bishop described the wedding day as perfect, saying Mulroy was "on cloud 9."
A keepsake becomes irreplaceable
The ring, which was two sizes too large after Mulroy lost weight, may have slipped off on the party bus or while his wheelchair moved along the Strip. Now, Bishop says the band has taken on profound significance. "Now that I don't have him, the rings were blessed, and that was our wedding ring, and that was him and how much it meant to him," she said. She hopes someone will find and return the blue metal band as a remaining piece of their brief marriage.
