Mikel Arteta has confirmed Ezri Konsa was withdrawn as a precaution in Arsenal's Champions League win over Slavia Prague and expects the defender to face Hull City on Saturday.
Konsa withdrawn as precaution
Konsa, who has kept four consecutive Premier League clean sheets since joining from Aston Villa, was replaced by Cristhian Mosquera in the 61st minute in Czechia. Arteta said the decision was to manage the England international's workload before the international break.
Saliba nearing return, France call-up uncertain
William Saliba, who has not featured this season due to a back injury sustained at the World Cup, returned to full training and was in the squad against Slavia Prague. Arteta said Arsenal are in contact with France and new manager Zinedine Zidane, hoping Saliba will not be called up this month to gain club minutes.
Arteta accepts Zidane's decision
Arteta added that Saliba needs minutes and loves playing for France, but the club will accept whatever decision Zidane makes regarding the defender's international involvement.
