Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba will be sidelined for several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during the team's 3-2 comeback win over Roma on Tuesday.
Extent of injury unclear
Manager Michael Carrick said the club is still assessing the full extent of the problem but confirmed Baleba will miss "a number of weeks" and will not return after the upcoming international break. The 22-year-old, a £70 million summer signing from Brighton, left the pitch in tears early in the second half.
Key fixtures at risk
Baleba is expected to miss Sunday's match against Aston Villa, the trip to Liverpool on 22 November, and the Champions League fixture against Sporting CP three days later. United face a congested December schedule, including a visit to Arsenal on 20 December, and it remains uncertain whether Baleba will be fit by then.
Previous injury setbacks
The midfielder missed the start of the season with an ankle injury and has started only five games since his arrival. Carrick also provided an update on Patrick Dorgu, who has been managing hamstring issues and trained partially this week, with a decision on his involvement against Villa pending.
