Nicolas Cage has given his blessing to Ryan Gosling as the actor prepares to take over the role of Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cage's Endorsement
Cage, who portrayed Johnny Blaze in 2007's "Ghost Rider" and its 2011 sequel, told The Hollywood Reporter that he had a "nice conversation" with Gosling about the upcoming Marvel Studios film. “Ryan’s going to do his thing with it and I’m looking forward to seeing it,” Cage said, adding that he wished Gosling the best of luck.
Gosling's Pitch Secures Role
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that Gosling himself pitched the vision for the film, a pitch that convinced director Shawn Levy and led to the project's surprise unveiling at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year. The film is scheduled for release on July 28, 2028, marking Ghost Rider's first official MCU appearance.
Levy Praises Creative Partnership
Levy, who recently collaborated with Gosling on "Star Wars: Starfighter," described the actor as a "great muse" and "partner" who thinks like a "full-spectrum creative." He said their collaboration built trust and they began discussing future projects after wrapping the Star Wars film.
