A trailer for Melania Trump’s upcoming docuseries, “Melania, the Series,” has sparked polarized reactions online ahead of its November 20 premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The two‑episode series promises “never‑before‑told stories” about the former first lady’s life, including the days following Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
Trailer Release and Reactions
The trailer features Melania Trump in a voiceover describing herself as “a mother, a wife, also first lady” and emphasizing her son Barron as her priority. Its release, days after Republicans suffered heavy losses in the midterm elections, drew sharp criticism on social media platform X. Some users called the timing “tone deaf” and urged a boycott of Amazon and Prime Video, while others dismissed the project as a financial repeat of the earlier film that flopped.
Previous Film’s Performance
The new docuseries follows an Amazon MGM Studios film, also titled “Melania,” which chronicled the 20 days before the 2025 inauguration. That documentary earned just over $16 million globally against a $75 million production and marketing budget, leading to speculation that Amazon’s investment aimed to curry favor with Donald Trump. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos defended the expense as a “good business decision” in a May interview.
Adviser Comments on New Series
Melania Trump’s senior adviser, Marc Beckman, told Real America’s Voice host Eric Bolling that the docuseries offers a “completely different look” than the Brett Ratner‑directed film. Beckman said the series opens a window into her private life, marriage, family, career, and philanthropy, promising a “full new experience for the viewers.”
