The Independent's horse racing correspondent Jonathan Doidge has selected four horses for Saturday's jump and flat racing action at Aintree and Doncaster, with three tips from the Merseyside track and one from the final major race of the turf Flat season in South Yorkshire.
Aintree 13:15 – Sans Bruit
Sans Bruit is backed each-way at 11/2 with William Hill in the Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Chase. The eight-year-old, trained by Paul Nicholls, has had wind surgery since finishing down the field at Ayr in spring and drops 3lb to a mark matching his Red Rum Handicap Chase wins at the Grand National meeting in 2024 and 2025. Conditional jockey Jay Tidball takes off a further 5lb.
Aintree 13:45 – Mydaddypaddy
Mydaddypaddy is the 2pts win selection at 11/8 with William Hill in the Grade 2 Molyneux Hurdle. The Dan Skelton-trained runner finished third in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham last season and has course-and-distance experience from the Formby Novices' Hurdle on Boxing Day 2025. He carries 4lb less than rival Alexei.
Doncaster 15:25 – Castle Cove
Castle Cove is tipped each-way at 9/1 with Bet365 in the Virgin Bet November Handicap, the season's final big Flat race. The William Haggas-trained gelding won this race last year on heavy ground and has an excellent fresh record. He carries 8lb more than in 2025 but may be primed for a repeat victory.
Aintree 15:35 – Hercule Du Seuil
Hercule Du Seuil is a 0.5pt each-way play at 22/1 with Bet365 in the Play Lucky Stable With William Hill Handicap Chase. Formerly with Willie Mullins, the horse won a Grade 3 chase at Killarney in May 2025 and has seen his handicap mark drop to 139 after four starts for new trainer Neil Mulholland. He has a good fresh record and handles soft ground.
