James Blunt has admitted feeling betrayed by fellow contestant Romesh Ranganathan during the final of BBC's Celebrity Traitors, after Ranganathan voted to banish him despite both being faithfuls.
Final showdown
Blunt, 52, and Ranganathan, 48, reached the final three alongside actor Sebastian Croft, 24. Ranganathan cast his vote for Blunt, leading to Blunt's banishment; Ranganathan and Croft ultimately won the £83,000 prize, split between their charities Choose Love and the Refugee Council.
Blunt's perspective
Speaking on LBC's Nick Ferrari at Breakfast, Blunt revealed he had no initial interest in reality TV and his manager had declined the offer. His wife signed him up, hoping for time apart. On BBC Radio 2's Sara Cox Breakfast Show, Blunt said he felt betrayed when Ranganathan voted him out, noting that everyone at the roundtable knew he was a faithful. He described Ranganathan's move as "underhanded" but insisted there is no bad blood, calling Ranganathan a close friend.
Viewership highs
The finale attracted an average overnight audience of 11.2 million viewers on BBC One, peaking at 11.6 million with a 62.9% audience share, making it the most-watched episode of the celebrity spin-off to date, surpassing last year's final which drew 11.1 million.
