Switzerland have recalled Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo to the national team following their absence over a fake COVID-19 documentation affair. The pair were previously dropped after Swiss media reported they had used falsified vaccine certificates.
Xhaka, the Arsenal midfielder and Switzerland captain, and Embolo, the Monaco forward, missed recent internationals while the Swiss Football Association investigated the matter. Their return signals the federation considers the issue resolved ahead of upcoming fixtures.
