Celtic came from behind to beat Besiktas 3-2 at Parkhead on Thursday, securing their first Europa League win of the season after substitutes Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran turned the match around.
Instant impact from the bench
With Celtic trailing 1-0 after an hour, manager Martin O'Neill introduced Osmand and Duran for Sebastian Tounekti and James Forrest. Osmand scored with his first touch 43 seconds later, leveling the match.
Duran double completes turnaround
Duran then moved central after Hogh was withdrawn in the 77th minute. He scored twice in the final minutes, first rounding the goalkeeper after a pass from Osmand, then converting a scuffed shot from Kieran Tierney. Orkun Kokcu briefly equalized for Besiktas.
Contrast in attacking output
The impact was stark: Hogh, Celtic's £11m record signing, managed no shots and one touch in the opposition box in 77 minutes, while Duran had two shots and four box touches in half an hour, scoring two goals.
Manager defends planned rotations
O'Neill defended his substitutions as planned due to a congested schedule, while former Celtic midfielder Stiliyan Petrov praised the change. Hearts defender Craig Halkett noted Hogh's difficult situation.
Osmand eyes starting role
Osmand, a former Fulham player, described his goal as surreal and expressed desire to start future matches.
