Emmy-winning actor Jason Sudeikis will appear as the celebrity guest picker on ESPN's College GameDay this Saturday for the Notre Dame versus Miami football game. The Ted Lasso star has deep family ties to the Indiana university, with his grandfather and uncle both graduating from Notre Dame.
Family roots at Notre Dame
Sudeikis told The Pat McAfee Show that his mother's father graduated from Notre Dame, and his first college football game was the 1988 "Catholics vs. Convicts" matchup. "With deep family roots right here at Notre Dame, having him on campus feels like home," the Fighting Irish athletics account posted on X. The actor said he looks forward to reliving his childhood at Saturday's game.
Sports fandom and Ted Lasso future
A noted sports enthusiast, Sudeikis frequently attends New York Liberty, Kansas men's basketball, and Iowa women's basketball games. His appearance comes after the surprise fourth season of Ted Lasso concluded last month. Sudeikis has indicated he is open to a fifth and sixth season of the Apple TV+ comedy, though the series has not been officially renewed.
