Paraguayan President Santiago Peña announced his resignation on Thursday after the collapse of a major digital bank linked to his government sparked widespread protests, froze millions of citizens' savings, and eroded support from his own party.
The crisis erupted when the bank's failure triggered mass demonstrations across the country, leading to a loss of political backing that forced Peña to step down, according to reports curated by AP photo editors.
