Longtime Donald Trump ally Harmeet Dhillon has resigned from her position as assistant attorney general for the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, Attorney General Todd Blanche announced Thursday.
Dhillon, a conservative lawyer known for her advocacy on religious liberty and free speech, had led the division since her confirmation. The departure comes amid ongoing policy shifts at the department. Blanche did not specify a reason for the resignation.
