Jack Grealish Unavailable for Everton vs Coventry

Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed that Jack Grealish will miss Friday's Premier League match against Coventry City due to a breach of club discipline.

Disciplinary issue sidelines midfielder

The 31-year-old, on loan from Manchester City, has not played since a home defeat by Chelsea on 17 October. He missed Everton's two recent fixtures against Newcastle in the league and the Carabao Cup. Moyes said after Monday's win at St James' Park that Grealish still has a future at the club but could not specify when he might return.

Speaking on Thursday, Moyes stated: "No, Jack is not available. I wouldn't give you the plan but we will be working with Jack again soon." The club and manager have remained guarded about the exact nature of the issue, which is understood to stem from an unauthorised absence from training. Everton initially cited a lack of fitness for his absence on Monday.

International break may offer resolution

Asked whether the upcoming international break could provide time to resolve the situation, Moyes added: "We just need to wait and see how things go."

Grealish is attempting to revive his career at Everton after falling out of favour at Manchester City, where he joined for a British record £100 million in 2021 and played a key role in the club's 2022-23 treble. He is out of contract at the end of this season. During his first loan spell last season, he scored twice in 22 appearances before an injury cut his stint short. He returned for a second loan this term but has made only six appearances before this latest setback.
