Netflix has released a new documentary examining the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the American teenager who vanished in Aruba in 2005. The film presents five significant revelations in the case that has drawn international attention for nearly two decades.
Case Background
Holloway was 18 when she disappeared during a high school graduation trip to the Caribbean island. Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch national, was the primary suspect but was never convicted in connection with her disappearance. He later confessed to killing Stephany Flores in Peru in 2010 and is currently serving a 28-year sentence there.
Documentary Focus
The new Netflix production revisits the investigation and legal proceedings surrounding Holloway's case. It aims to shed new light on the circumstances of her disappearance and the subsequent handling of the investigation by Aruban authorities.
