The 27th annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with actress Roselyn Sánchez returning as host for the tenth time.
Broadcast and streaming details
The ceremony will air live on TelevisaUnivision’s U.S. platforms — Univision, UNIMÁS, ViX and Galavisión — starting at 8 p.m. Eastern, preceded by an hour-long pre-show at 7 p.m. Eastern. The Associated Press will livestream the red carpet from 5 p.m. Eastern on YouTube and apnews.com. As with the Grammy Awards, most Latin Grammy trophies are awarded during a Premiere ceremony before the telecast.
Performers lineup
Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Daddy Yankee is scheduled to perform, alongside Anitta, Banda Los Recoditos, Jorge Drexler, Silvana Estrada, Kany García, Juanes, Carín León, Mon Laferte, Vivir Quintana, Rawayana, Rosalía, Elena Rose and Xavi. Additional performers include Cristian Castro, Camila Fernández, Feid, Luis Figueroa, Fonseca, Grupo Frontera, Milo J, Niña Pastori, Reik, Sofía Reyes, Yami Safdie and The Warning. A tribute to late ranchera icon José Alfredo Jiménez, produced by Edgar Barrera, is also planned.
Top nominees
Producer and songwriter Edgar Barrera leads with 10 nominations, including record, producer and songwriter of the year, plus dual nods in both song and album of the year. Karol G, Rosalía, Jorge Drexler and hip-hop duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso each have seven nominations. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte follow with six each, including nominations in the top general categories. The best new artist category features Delilah, Fabian, Loulu Gilberto, Arath Herce, Macario Martínez, Maye, Sofia Monroy, Kendall Peña, Dora Sanches, Aria Vega and Zeca Veloso.
Relationship with the Grammy Awards
Latin Recording Academy CEO Manuel Abud described the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy as sister organizations with identical voting processes, though the Latin Grammys incorporate adjustments for their international scope. The Recording Academy invited all Latin Grammy voting members to join its new member class last year, further aligning the two bodies.
