Black Friday 2026 falls on 27 November, but major UK retailers have already launched early sales weeks ahead of the main event. Superdrug, PlayStation, Samsung, AO, Currys, Boots and Gtech are among the brands offering discounts from late October, turning the traditional single-day sale into a weeks-long shopping festival.
Retail analysts note extended sales period
Ian Bendelow, senior analyst at the British Retail Consortium, said Black Friday is no longer confined to a single weekend, with many retailers offering deals throughout November. Shopping earlier gives customers more opportunity to find products at a good price, particularly popular items that may sell out, while also allowing them to spread spending ahead of Christmas.
Tech and gaming deals lead early offers
PlayStation has launched its sale with discounts on games, while Nintendo Switch 2 bundles are already reduced. Sony's PS-LX5BT turntable is £70 off at £328.98, and the JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker is down to £119 at EE and £129 at Currys. The Garmin Venu 4 smartwatch sees a £100 discount to £339.99 at Argos.
Home appliance offers feature Dyson and Ninja
Dyson's V8 Cyclone vacuum is £209 at Currys, down from £349, while the Supersonic r hair dryer drops to £349 at AO. The Airwrap id styler is £150 off at £329 at John Lewis. Ninja's Foodi Max Dual Zone air fryer is reduced to £159 at AO, and the Creami Swirl ice cream maker is £289.99 at Currys. De'Longhi's Magnifica Plus bean-to-cup coffee machine is £499 at AO, saving £200.
Beauty and grooming discounts include premium brands
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Intense perfume is £43.55 at Boots, down from £65. Dyson's Airwrap and Supersonic r hair tools offer savings up to £150. The Braun Series 9 Pro+ shaver is half price at £224.99 at Boots. Oral-B's iO3 electric toothbrush drops to £52.99 at Currys, a 67% reduction.
Furniture and sleep sales launch early
Simba's Hybrid Luxe double mattress is £1,205.33, saving nearly £600. Swyft's Model 02 loveseat starts at £719, down from £1,199. Habitat offers up to 40% off sofas, while Wayfair and Dusk have started presales. Ikea confirmed its Black Friday sale returns on 26 November for Ikea Family members, after sitting out the previous three years.
Most major retailers participate, with notable exceptions
Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, AO, Very, Samsung, Shark, Dyson, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Adidas, Nike, Asos and Zara are among hundreds taking part. Apple does not discount products but offers gift cards; Ikea and Lush avoid Black Friday sales, while The Ordinary shuts its website for 24 hours to protest over-consumerism.
Experts advise checking price history for genuine deals
IndyBest editors recommend tracking a product's price history before buying. If the price has been stable for weeks or the discount is only a few pounds, the deal may not be impressive. Comparing prices across multiple retailers is essential, as a large percentage off does not automatically mean a good deal.
Cyber Monday extends savings to 30 November
Cyber Monday falls on 30 November 2026, with many major deals ending at midnight. Some retailers continued discounts into December last year, and "Cyber Week" promotions are becoming more common, extending the sale period further.
