Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will offer more than 1,400 lots next month, with a combined estimated value of £10 million. The sale includes iconic screen-used items such as the Batpod motorcycle from Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the fedora worn by Harrison Ford’s stunt double in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”
Key items and estimates
The Batpod, featured in “The Dark Knight” (2008) and “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012), carries a guide price of £450,000 to £900,000. Christian Bale’s Batman suit from “Batman Begins” (2005) is estimated at £125,000 to £250,000. The Indiana Jones fedora and a stunt shirt from Vic Armstrong’s personal collection are together expected to fetch £400,000 to £800,000, while an eight-foot bullwhip from the same film has a guide of £200,000 to £400,000. From “Game of Thrones,” Jon Snow’s Longclaw sword is valued at £50,000 to £100,000 and Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon egg at £20,000 to £40,000.
Auction schedule and public viewing
The live auction runs over three days from December 4 to 6. The opening day will host in-person bidding at Bafta’s 195 Piccadilly in London, alongside global telephone, internet, and absentee bidding. A public exhibition at The Cumberland Hotel in London from November 19 to 22 will allow fans to view the items before the sale.
Propstore CEO highlights significance
Stephen Lane, founder and chief executive of Propstore, described the Batpod as an extraordinary feat of filmmaking and engineering and a spectacular centrepiece for the auction. He noted that bringing together Indiana Jones’ fedora, shirt, and bullwhip in a single catalogue is particularly exciting, as they define one of cinema’s most recognisable characters. Lane added that the items coming directly from Vic Armstrong’s collection also tell the story of the stunt work behind the adventure.
