Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams brought Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino, pop star Kylie Minogue, and rapper RZA to his hometown of Porthcawl earlier this year to shoot his new movie "Tangled Up in Blue".

The production caused a buzz in the seaside community, with Adams describing the experience as an "out of body experience" bringing his heroes to locations that hold personal meaning, including the pub his father once ran.
Personal connections drive project
Minogue, who has described herself as "half Welsh," jumped at the chance to participate because her family hails from Maesteg near Porthcawl, though she rarely visits. Tarantino, making his first trip to Wales, embraced the improv filming style Adams employs, comparing it to French New Wave cinema.
Improv style and future plans
Adams shot much of the film spontaneously without a pre-written script, a method he also used for a 2019 project with Jennifer Grey. The director aims for a summer 2027 release and hopes to host a premiere in Cardiff with the star cast attending.
