A Pennsylvania father and his two children fell to their deaths on Election Day in what police suspect was a double murder-suicide. The bodies were discovered around 4 p.m. Tuesday behind the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building near a neighboring parking garage, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.
Victims identified
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the deceased as Patrick Lynch, 42; his son James Lynch, 8; and his daughter Caroline Lynch, 6. All three resided in Mt. Lebanon.
Police investigation
First responders found the adult male and two children suffering injuries from an apparent fall. Life-saving measures were attempted until medical professionals pronounced all three deceased at the scene. Police said preliminary information suggests a murder-suicide with no danger to the community.
Mt. Lebanon Police Chief Jason Haberman stated at a press conference that authorities are treating the incident as intentional, not accidental. He noted the event would cause significant trauma for the community.
No motive disclosed
