Celebrities across the United States reacted with jubilation Wednesday after Democrats flipped both the Senate and the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections, delivering a sweeping repudiation of Republican control in several conservative strongholds.
O'Donnell Declares 'Trump Regime Over'
Former talk show host Rosie O'Donnell, now living in Ireland, posted a nine-minute TikTok video declaring the "Trump regime is over." She told followers: "It's a beautiful morning in the world. Thank you America. We gave a very loud and clear message to Trump and his sycophants, his criminal friends: we've had enough." O'Donnell mocked the former president as "delusional, diaper Don" and said the victory was "bigger than a blue wave. It was bigger than a tsunami."
Historic Democratic Wins
Democrats seized control of both chambers as voters in Texas, Maine, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio, and both Carolinas rejected Republican candidates. The night also produced historic firsts: the nation's first Black female governor, first Native American female governor, first Native female senator, and first openly gay male U.S. senator. In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed became the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate.
Celebrity Reactions Across the Board
The country music group The Chicks waved fans reading "F*** Trump" at a Los Angeles concert, with Natalie Maines telling the crowd, "Welcome to our blunami night. Texas is blue. The Senate is blue. The House is blue." Actress Hannah Einbinder celebrated El-Sayed's win and performed a promised impression of Michigan Democrat Haley Stevens. Singer Mandy Moore posted overnight stories thanking voters, while Henry Winkler replied "Dreams do come true" to a social media check-in. John Leguizamo hailed "redemption time" and the election of California's first Latino governor. Bette Midler said voters "saved your beloved country." Kim Kardashian simply posted "GOOD MORNING AMERICA," Pedro Pascal shared Texas turning blue with the caption "SOBBING," and Molly Ringwald congratulated California Governor Xavier Becerra.
