Apple Opens Siri to All Apps in AI Push

By Karim Hammam

Apple has opened Siri to all third-party apps on iPhone, expanding its AI-driven voice assistant capabilities. The move follows the September release of iOS 27, which introduced a rewritten Siri powered by Apple Intelligence.

Developers gain access

The new system, built on "app intents" introduced in 2022, lets users ask Siri to perform tasks within any supported app — such as changing a taxi destination or checking shoe prices — without needing technical knowledge.

Public rollout timeline

The feature is available to developers in an early iOS 27.3 release, with public access expected in a few months. Developers can submit apps using the feature in spring. It requires devices supporting Apple Intelligence and languages that support it.

Europe exclusion

Apple said the feature will not launch in Europe due to ongoing regulatory issues with the EU, though the company is working constructively to find a path forward.
