Newcastle United increased the pressure on Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage following a 2-0 Premier League victory at Selhurst Park. Goals from William Osula and Harvey Barnes secured the win for the Magpies in a match that left the home side struggling to find momentum.

Early Second-Half Breakthrough

After a goalless first half characterized by limited opportunities, William Osula broke the deadlock less than two minutes after the restart. The striker latched onto a precise cross from Jacob Murphy to score his seventh goal in his last 13 Premier League appearances. Newcastle nearly doubled their lead shortly after, but a goal by Joe Willock was disallowed following a VAR review that ruled him offside.

Barnes Seals the Victory

Newcastle's dominance continued as they pressed for a second goal, which arrived in the 58th minute. Harvey Barnes swept the ball home after being set up by Amar Dedic, effectively ending Palace's hopes of a comeback. Despite efforts from Crystal Palace players like Daichi Kamada and Jean-Philippe Mateta, the Eagles were unable to breach the Newcastle defense.

Palace Struggle to Respond

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek made several notable saves to prevent a larger deficit, denying attempts from Adam Wharton and Dario Osorio. However, the home side struggled to create clear-cut chances to match Newcastle's efficiency. The match concluded with frustration for the Palace supporters, as the defeat adds further pressure on Pierre Sage's position.
