Actor Jaime Winstone will miss this weekend's episode of Strictly Come Dancing after tearing an abdominal muscle, the BBC announced on Wednesday.
Injury forces withdrawal
Doctors have advised Winstone to rest this week, and in line with show rules she and professional partner Carlos Gu will receive a bye through to next week. A BBC spokesperson said they wish her the best in her recovery.
Winstone 'absolutely devastated'
In a statement, Winstone said she is in considerable pain and must put her health first. “I am absolutely devastated not to be dancing this weekend due to a torn abdominal muscle,” she said. “I love every moment of dancing and performing with Carlos, and I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey.”
She thanked fans for their support and added she hopes to return to the dance floor very soon.
