A fourth teenager has been arrested after five boys were stabbed at a Halloween party in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, on Saturday night.
Arrests and charges
A 16-year-old from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Police have been granted an additional 36 hours to question two other boys, aged 16 and 17, also from Southampton, who were arrested on Monday on suspicion of the same offence. A 16-year-old boy from Bristol remains in custody after being arrested on Monday night on suspicion of attempted murder.
Victims' condition
One 17-year-old remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. The other four boys, who all suffered serious injuries, have since been discharged.
Incident details
Police were called shortly after 22:30 GMT on Saturday to a home on Park Road where an "unknown group" had gained entry to the supervised party over a garden fence. Witnesses said a fight broke out after the group entered the property.
Witness accounts
One teenager told the BBC he saw a friend pull up his shirt and say he had been stabbed, then later saw him lying outside the front of the house with someone compressing the wound. Another witness described hearing shouting, a fight breaking out, and the host's father telling everyone to leave before seeing an injured person on the floor.
Police investigation
Officers cordoned off parts of Park Road and the adjoining Valley Road. Searches have been carried out at three addresses linked to those arrested, two in Southampton and one in Bristol, with several items seized. Hampshire police said a number of witnesses have come forward and urged anyone with further information to contact them, no matter how small it may seem.
Community support
Two local churches have opened their doors to offer support. St Boniface on Hursley Road is open from 09:00 to 17:00 through the week, while St Martin in the Wood on Queen's Road will open on Wednesday from 15:00 to 17:00.
