Former President Donald Trump called into Fox News and acknowledged a sweeping Democratic victory in the midterm elections, describing the results as a devastating night of losses for Republicans.
Stunning admission on air
During the appearance, Trump appeared to be slurring his speech as he made what observers called a stunning admission: "They finally got it," referring to Democratic gains across key races.
Reaction to election night
The call came as returns showed Democrats outperforming expectations, flipping several competitive seats and limiting Republican gains to a narrow House majority. Trump's concession marked a rare public acknowledgment of electoral setbacks for his party.
