Trump Turns Off Fox News Over Host's Voice on Election Night

By Basant El-Faramawy

President Donald Trump announced on Election Day that he was switching off Fox News because he could not bear the voice of liberal commentator Jessica Tarlov, a co-host of "The Five." In a Truth Social post shortly before the first polls closed Tuesday, Trump wrote that Tarlov's voice was unbearable, calling her "DUMB AS A ROCK" and a "LOSER," and said he would watch elsewhere until she was off the air.

Tarlov Previously Questioned Trump's Focus

Tarlov, a frequent Trump critic, has slammed his handling of the cost of living, accused him of corruption, and questioned his cognitive health. Last month she responded to the president's repeated attacks by asking: "Why is this man not busier? There are better things to do." Trump has previously called her "one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television."

President Also Attacks Fox News Polling

Later Tuesday evening, Trump followed up with another Truth Social post targeting Fox News polling, calling the network's poll "always the worst" and claiming every question was a "hit job." His approval rating fell to a record-low 36 percent in a Fox poll this month, which also projected for the first time that Democrats were likely to win control of the House.

Election Stakes High for Both Parties

Polls indicate potentially steep Republican losses, with the party's House and Senate majorities at risk as voters express frustration over the cost of living and the Iran war. Democrats need to flip three House seats and four Senate seats to gain control of both chambers. Results may take hours or days to determine which party will control Congress for the final two years of Trump's second term. A White House official described the administration's mood as "cautiously optimistic."
