Manchester United 3-2 Roma: Fernandes on Carrick future

By Sohaib Shams

Manchester United produced a stunning second-half comeback to defeat Roma 3-2 in the Champions League, ending a run of nine matches without a victory. The Red Devils overturned a 2-0 deficit to secure a crucial win that eased pressure on manager Michael Carrick.

Fernandes denies saving Carrick's job

Captain Bruno Fernandes, restored to the starting lineup after being dropped for the previous game, converted a 58th-minute penalty that sparked the revival. Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, Fernandes said the players "don't need to save anyone's job," emphasizing that the club and the squad needed the win after a difficult period.

Fernandes also addressed recent speculation about his relationship with Carrick, stating they had cleared the air and that his benching was a performance-based decision, not punishment for his public criticism. He insisted his belief in the manager and the team remains unchanged and his focus is on winning every game.
