UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Tuesday the British public would expect him to accept a new EU deal “with both hands” because it promises additional economic growth.
Economic impact upgraded
Burnham stated a new agreement could add billions more to the UK economy than previously estimated, accusing opponents of “misreading the public mood” on Brexit.
The Treasury recently confirmed that agreements under negotiation ahead of a summit later this month could boost GDP by 0.4%, up from a prior 0.3% estimate.
