Former President Donald Trump launched a personal attack on Abdul El-Sayed during a series of Truth Social posts on Election Day, accusing the Michigan politician of harboring hatred toward Black and Jewish communities.
Inflammatory remarks on social media
In what observers described as a posting binge, Trump wrote that El-Sayed "hates Blacks and hates Jews," escalating rhetoric against the former Detroit health director and 2018 gubernatorial candidate. The comments appeared on Trump's Truth Social platform throughout Tuesday as voters headed to the polls.
El-Sayed, a progressive Democrat who has served as Wayne County's health director, has been a frequent critic of Trump and his policies. The former president's latest broadside came amid a flurry of Election Day messages targeting various political opponents.
