A 16-year-old boy from Bristol has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after five teenagers were stabbed at a Halloween party in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire.
Arrests and condition of victims
Police were called shortly after 22:30 GMT on Saturday to Park Road where an unknown group had gained entry to the event. One 17-year-old remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition, while the other four have been discharged. The 16-year-old suspect remains in custody along with two other boys arrested on Monday.
Witness accounts
Two witnesses told the BBC a fight broke out after a group entered the property over a garden fence, though the motive for the stabbings remains unclear. One teenager described seeing a friend lift his shirt to reveal a stab wound before later seeing him lying outside with someone compressing the injury.
Police investigation
Officers have cordoned off parts of Park Road and Valley Road and are reviewing video footage and witness statements. Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie, the senior investigating officer, thanked those who have come forward and urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact police.
Community support
Local neighbourhood policing teams will visit schools and colleges this week to offer reassurance and support to those affected. Chief Inspector Rachel Noble, district commander for Eastleigh, said the violence was extremely distressing and emphasized the availability of support services.
