Kemi Badenoch has criticized a proposed plan by Burnham to apologize for slavery, asserting that the British Empire was a force for good overall.
‘We have had enough of apologies’
In a statement, Badenoch said: “We have had enough of apologies,” rejecting calls for a formal apology for the UK’s historical role in the transatlantic slave trade.
The remarks underscore ongoing political divisions over how Britain addresses its colonial legacy.
