The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 16-0 on Sunday without completing a single pass, a feat not seen in the NFL since 1974.
Played in a heavy downpour at Raymond James Stadium, the Buccaneers attempted only three passes, all incomplete, and ran the ball 56 times for a franchise-record 324 rushing yards.
Running backs Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell led the ground attack with 170 and 140 yards respectively, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield finished 0-for-3 passing but avoided turnovers, while Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw four interceptions and lost a fumble.
Coach Todd Bowles said the weather dictated the game plan, noting the ball was not moving in the wind and rain.
