Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez will challenge Christian Mbilli for the WBC super-middleweight title at the ANB Arena in Riyadh on Saturday night, marking Alvarez's first bout in 13 months following elbow surgery and a points loss to Terence Crawford.
Fight Details and Timings
The main card has already begun, with ring walks for the main event expected around 8:30 pm GMT (1:30 pm PT / 3:30 pm CT / 4:30 pm ET). The action is being streamed live on DAZN pay‑per‑view and DAZN’s Ultimate Tier.
Background and Stakes
Alvarez, 36, enters as the challenger after his defeat to Crawford last year, while the unbeaten Cameroonian Mbilli, 31, was elevated to full champion when Crawford retired in December. A loss for Alvarez could signal the twilight of a career that has long made him the face of boxing.
Security Concerns
The fight proceeds despite recent strikes on Riyadh by Yemen‑aligned Houthi forces that have injured more than 300 people and killed at least 21, according to Saudi authorities.
