Nancy Guthrie Case: Task Force Consults Florida DNA Experts

Authorities investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of "TODAY" co-host Savannah Guthrie, said Friday that a task force traveled to Florida to advance DNA analysis as the case approaches its ninth month.

Task Force Seeks New Leads in DNA Analysis

The Pima County Sheriff's Department announced on X that the Nancy Guthrie Task Force met with lab scientists in Florida to discuss further steps. "A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case," the department stated.

Background of the Disappearance

Guthrie, 84, vanished from her Tucson, Arizona home in February in what federal authorities have described as a kidnapping-for-ransom case. Updates have been scarce in recent months. In late July, officials said hair found during the investigation was not linked to any suspects.

Family Appeals for Public Assistance

Savannah Guthrie has continued to seek public help, posting an emotional message on Instagram in August expressing the family's determination to find her mother. The sheriff's office urged anyone with information to contact 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI, emphasizing that no tip is too small.
