South Africa beat Australia by 176 runs to win Test series

South Africa secured a 176-run victory over Australia in the third Test at Cape Town, clinching the series 2-1 and returning to the top of the ICC Test rankings.

Chasing 288, Australia collapsed to 111 all out, with Simon Harmer taking career-best figures of 6-16 and Kagiso Rabada claiming 3-39, including becoming the fastest bowler to 350 Test wickets.

Warner labels display 'un-Australian'

Former opener David Warner, retired since January, delivered a scathing assessment on Fox Sports, calling the batting "terrible", "utterly disgraceful" and "un-Australian" after Australia lost seven wickets in the first session.

Warner singled out the run-out of Josh Inglis and Alex Carey's reverse-sweep dismissal as emblematic of a lack of fight, saying the batters had let the bowlers down all series.

Rabada reaches milestone as Harmer dominates

Rabada's early strikes, including the key wicket of Travis Head, saw him reach 350 Test wickets in his 74th match, the quickest in history.

Harmer then ripped through the middle and lower order, with Australia's only resistance coming from Nathan Lyon, who top-scored with 33 not out while captain Pat Cummins blocked for 40 balls without scoring.

Series win lifts South Africa to number one

The victory, built on first-innings centuries from Wiaan Mulder (115) and Ryan Rickelton (101), confirms South Africa's status as one of the world's best sides ahead of a demanding schedule for Australia, which includes home Tests against New Zealand, a tour of India, and the Ashes.
