Roger Howarth and Beth Maitland swept the supporting acting categories at the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, each winning decades after their first victories.

Howarth wins for 'The Young and the Restless'

Howarth, who currently plays Matt Clark on CBS's "The Young and the Restless," first won a Daytime Emmy in 1994 for his breakout role as Todd Manning on "One Life to Live."

Maitland honored for decades-long role

Maitland was recognized for portraying Traci Abbott, a role she originated in 1982 — the year of her first supporting actress win — and has played intermittently since. "I was equally as gobsmacked back then as a young actress, and I can't tell you how meaningful it is to be here," she said, paying tribute to fellow nominees.

Other notable winners

Tracee Ellis Ross won in the travel and adventure category for her Roku series "Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross," thanking Morocco, Mexico, and Spain. Ambyr Michelle of "Beyond the Gates" won the emerging talent award for a daytime drama. Sherri Shepherd won as daytime talk series host for "Sherri," which ended its four-season run in May.

The ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium was streamed live for the second consecutive year.
