Magic Men Australia Show Axed by Swansea Council as 'Too Raunchy'

By Salma El-Sakka

Swansea Council has cancelled a Magic Mike-style male strip show by Magic Men Australia scheduled for Friday at Brangwyn Hall, citing concerns the performance was "too raunchy," according to lead performer William Parfitt.

Cancellation Details

The Australian troupe, currently on a world tour, was informed about a week ago that the show would not proceed. Parfitt said the venue gave only a vague explanation and neither the venue nor the council notified him directly.

Council Response

In a statement to the BBC, Swansea Council apologised for the disruption but said the cancellation followed concerns raised with them. The council has been contacted for further comment.

Performer's Reaction

Parfitt called the decision "incredibly disappointing" on Instagram, questioning whether the show was "too raunchy... or not raunchy enough." He noted the group had spent considerable time and money preparing, and hundreds of women were looking forward to attending.

Ticket Holders Offered Alternatives

Ticket holders have been contacted and offered full refunds or the chance to attend another UK date with VIP upgrades. Parfitt invited them to decide for themselves if the show is too raunchy.
