Rockstar Games has announced that the original score for Grand Theft Auto 6, composed by French electronic duo Justice, will be released on vinyl and CD in December, with pre-orders now open. The game itself launches on 19 November, and two editions are available for pre-order: a Standard Edition priced at £69.99 and a digital-only Ultimate Edition at £89.99. Physical copies will ship a week early to allow pre-loading, though they contain only a download code rather than a disc.
Release Date and Pricing
Grand Theft Auto 6 releases on 19 November. The Standard Edition costs £69.99, with retailers such as Argos and Amazon already offering a £5 discount. The Ultimate Edition, available exclusively through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, is priced at £89.99. Rockstar confirmed that boxed copies will ship from 12 November so players can pre-load the game ahead of launch.
Ultimate Edition Details
The Ultimate Edition includes exclusive vehicles such as a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a '95 Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest Kayak, and a Shitzu Squalo speedboat. It also adds exclusive missions like the Classic Car Collection questline and the PTT Youngin$ compound raid, unique weapons including Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, and over 50 cosmetic items ranging from outfits and hairstyles to tattoos. Pre-ordering either edition grants the Vintage Vice City pack and a free month of GTA+.
Standard Edition and Pre-Order Bonuses
The Standard Edition provides the full single-player experience without the Ultimate Edition's exclusive content. However, it still includes the Vintage Vice City pre-order bonus pack featuring a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, Shore Court Garage, retro outfits, and a Tommy Vercetti-inspired weapon skin. Physical Standard Edition copies also ship early with a download code.
Soundtrack Vinyl Releases
Rockstar will release two separate vinyl collections. The official soundtrack, featuring 34 tracks from artists including Travis Scott, PinkPantheress, Yung Lean, and Keith Richards, is available for £44.99 from Amazon with an exclusive pink-and-purple splatter variant shipping 20 November. The original score by Justice spans 30 tracks across three records with collaborations from Tame Impala, SZA, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and Gesaffelstein; a limited crystal-clear edition sells for £49.99 at HMV, releasing 11 December.
Collector's Box Announced
On 24 September, Rockstar revealed a premium collector's box titled The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, priced at £349.99. Inspired by the in-game show Macca the Gator, it includes an alligator figurine, Oakley sunglasses, a New Era cap, a crossbody bag, a shot glass, a double-sided map of Leonida, and other physical items. The box does not include a copy of the game and is available only through the Rockstar Games Store, shipping on 19 November.
Online Launch Timeline
Rockstar describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience at launch, with no GTA Online mode on day one. Historical precedent suggests a multiplayer component may arrive months later; Twitch CEO Dan Clancy previously indicated a possible 2027 launch for GTA Online. Cross-play support remains unconfirmed.
Main Characters and Gameplay Features
The dual protagonists are Jason Duval, a former soldier working for drug runners in the Keys, and Lucia Caminos, recently released from Leonida Penitentiary. Supporting characters include Cal Hampton, Brian Heder, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, the rap duo Real Dimez, and Raul Bautista. Extended gameplay footage shows seamless perspective switching, a focus mechanic similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's Dead Eye, improved police AI that recognises player traits, and numerous side activities such as basketball, deep-sea diving, kayaking, racing, and gym workouts that affect character appearance.
