Sylvester Stallone Defends Casting Daughter in Tulsa King

Sylvester Stallone has addressed criticisms regarding the casting of his daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, in the crime drama series Tulsa King. The 80-year-old actor, who stars in and executive produces the Paramount+ series, admitted that the decision was a clear case of nepotism.

Stallone on Nepotism and Parenting

Scarlet Rose Stallone appears in a recurring role as Spencer, a bartender hired by Stallone's character, Dwight. Responding to the ongoing Hollywood debate surrounding "nepo babies," Stallone expressed a defiant stance on supporting his children's careers.

In a recent interview, Stallone argued that providing advantages to children is a natural part of parenting. He stated that parents want the best for their children and that failing to help them could be seen as a lack of care. He challenged critics by suggesting that while a parent can open doors, they cannot guarantee long-term success.

Talent vs. Opportunity

While acknowledging that his daughter received an advantage through her connection to him, Stallone emphasized that longevity in the entertainment industry depends on individual ability. He noted that while the initial job might be easier to obtain, maintaining a presence in front of millions of viewers requires genuine talent.

Tulsa King originally debuted in 2022 and is currently in its fourth season. The franchise is also expanding, with a spin-off titled Frisco King, starring Samuel L. Jackson, currently in development.
