Masked Singer Judge Jenny McCarthy Lives in Tent Due to Mold Poisoning

By Basant El-Faramawy

Television personality and Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy says she is living in a tent while detoxifying her Los Angeles home from toxic mold poisoning. The 53-year-old revealed on her podcast that mycotoxin exposure left her with severe symptoms, prompting her to move outdoors despite having remediated the mold.

Symptoms and diagnosis

McCarthy described a cascade of health issues beginning with an infected root canal, followed by multiple surgeries, mysterious growths, and dental implants falling out. She said doctors eventually identified mycotoxin poisoning, also known as toxic mold, which explained why her immune system was under attack. Her physician warned her that the mold type could cause seizures.

Tent living and detox

Although the mold has been removed from the home she shares with husband Donnie Wahlberg, McCarthy remains in a tent because she is "too paranoid" to return indoors. She stated she is in month seven of a detox regimen and feels "knee-deep" in the process.

Public profile

McCarthy became a prominent anti-vaccine advocate in the mid-2000s, promoting the discredited claim that vaccines caused her son's autism. The Cleveland Clinic notes that mycotoxins can cause flu-like symptoms short-term and chronic illness with long-term exposure.
