Consumer Reports has urged parents to stop using Millie Moon diapers after more than 600 incident reports of infant skin reactions were filed with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The popular diaper brand, sold at Target and other retailers, has not been officially recalled.
No Official Recall Yet
While Consumer Reports called for a recall, neither Millie Moon nor the CPSC has announced one. A CPSC spokesperson confirmed the agency is aware of the numerous complaints but declined to comment on any active investigations. The incidents were identified through the agency’s public database, SaferProducts.gov.
What Parents Are Reporting
Parents have described redness, swelling, blisters, peeling, bleeding and other painful skin reactions, some requiring medical care. Consumer Reports noted at least three emergency room visits, and one case reported by Fox59 in Indianapolis involved a 2-year-old who needed skin grafts. Many parents said their babies had used the brand without issues before developing reactions after opening a new package.
Millie Moon Response
In an Instagram statement, Millie Moon said it reviews complaints individually and has found no evidence its diapers caused the reported reactions. The company stated it has not changed materials, suppliers or construction, and that an independent U.S. lab tested the diapers before and after a February 2026 design change that extended the printed pattern farther up the diaper. Millie Moon said its overall complaint rate is below 0.1% of diapers sold.
Advice for Parents
Consumer Reports advises stopping use if a baby shows a skin reaction and contacting a pediatrician. Parents should document the reaction with photos, note the package opening date, retain packaging and lot numbers, and report the issue to Millie Moon at hello@mymilliemoon.com and to the CPSC via SaferProducts.gov.
