Massachusetts police apprehended a New Hampshire fugitive Wednesday in Lowell, ending an 11-month manhunt for Daquhan Cromer, 29, who had escaped from a halfway house in Manchester, New Hampshire, in December 2025.
Capture in Lowell
Cromer was taken into custody shortly after noon by officers from the Methuen Police Department, about 15 miles from Salem, New Hampshire, where he had evaded police the previous night. He surrendered without incident after authorities tracked him to a residence, according to Salem Police Lt. Robert Kirley.
Escape and prior offenses
Cromer was wanted on an escape warrant from New Hampshire State Prison and faced multiple felony charges in Salem. His flight on Tuesday night prompted a shelter-in-place order in Salem that was lifted by Wednesday morning.
